Le parole chiave sono COMFORT, FUNZIONALITA’ e BELLEZZA.
La casa dei propri sogni può essere creata riutilizzando in modo nuovo e con un minimo di restauro o decorazione vecchi mobili di normale produzione, uniti ai piccoli tesori dei mercatini, soprattutto pizzi, damaschi sbiaditi, vecchie brocche traboccanti di fiori freschi, lino stropicciato.
Il pranzo si serve con piatti, bicchieri e posate d’epoca, ma strettamente scompagnate.
I colori sono necessariamente i delicati pastelli dei broccati e velluti sfumati e sullo sfondo il bianco candido di muri o legno dipinto e tanti tappeti consunti.

Pink, mint green, white and muted aqua are the colors most frequently seen in shabby chic accessories and fabrics, and fabric construction tends toward cotton, vintage barkcloth, linen, and chenille, sometimes bleached or stained with tea to look older.
